Firm:
Small plaintiff side employment law firm in the City of Downey is hiring a legal assistant / office assistant. Our firm only represents employees and our cases involve claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, sex or race harassment, failure to accommodate disabilities, unpaid wages, and other claims on behalf of employees. Our firm is a low volume practice that prides itself in properly prosecuting each individual case.
Job Description:
· Collect information and documents from clients, third parties, medical providers, etc. for discovery responses and fact gathering
· Maintain case-specific master captions and proofs of service
· File litigation and arbitration documents with filing services
· Organizing electronic and physical files
· Prepare document productions
· Summarize record productions
· Communicate with clients about case status
· Handle all tasks relating to subpoenas and third-party records
· Word processing
· Document review and analysis
· Draft and prepare correspondence and legal documents
· Communicate with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
Requirements:
· Strong document review skills
· Attention to detail an absolute must
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
· Strong computer skills
· Ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, paralegals, support staff, courtroom personnel, third parties witnesses, doctors, and vendors
Spanish language skills would also be helpful.
