Nestled in the Northern California hills of Orinda, you will find a beautiful full-service, family oriented private club located 20 miles east of San Francisco in the sunny East Bay. The Club includes a Willie Watson designed golf course, 8 tennis courts, a Fitness Center, state-of-the-art pool facility and an upscale dining experience.
JOB SUMMARY
Assist Pastry Chef in all aspects of daily production and events. Pastry Assistant will work as a part of a team with in a fast-paced work environment while strictly adhering to established sanitation and safety standards.
TASKS AND DUTIES
1. Scale, mix, and bake scratch dessert items for restaurant and catering events.
2. Check production schedules routinely and establish priority items for each day.
3. Assist in assembly and decoration of wedding/specialty cakes, custom orders in accordance with the Pastry Chef’s designs.
4. Meet production schedule and timelines for pastry needs while still being aware/managing personal timelines.
5. Keep Pastry Chef informed of any missing or low production items.
6. Flexibility with work schedule changing from mornings or nights per events/dinner services.
7. Potential assistance in plating of desserts during dinner services/events.
8. Taking daily restaurant dessert inventory and assist with replenishment of items and components.
9. Ensures that workstation and equipment are clean and sanitary.
10. Maintains safety and security in workstation.
EDUCATION
Degree/certificates from accredited culinary school
Minimum 2 years of experience in related field
