What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Orlando Freightliner?
Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and
outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other
records
Completes shipping documents, affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils
identifying shipping information on cartons, and determines method of shipment
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items
into containers
Nails covers on wooden crates, binds containers with metal tape, or in other acceptable ways,
secures containers. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping
instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes
postage
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and
corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Ensures parts have numbers and
are stocked in required location
Routes items to departments and handles branch transfers. Communicates with branches to
ensure prompt and accurate delivery of parts
Relocates parts or parts bins as necessary. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and
supplies
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, on-load, off- load, or hoist
shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
Pulls and ships dirty cores. Pulls obsolete parts for shipment or scrap

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Computer literacy desired. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak in English effectively before individuals, groups of customers, or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Florida Operators' Drivers License. Must maintain insurability for business purpose vehicle operations.
