The Role : Procurement Supervisor
Position Summary
Supervises the work of sourcing, planning, buying and expediting to assure all Company policies and work standards are achieved.
Working with their regional procurement team to ensure all standardized
purchase order management and material management procedures are being followed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with negotiating purchase agreements and prices with vendors.
- Working with Category Managers to maintain supplier relationships.
- Provides assistance and product information to procurement teams and sales.
- Assisting procurement team with contacting vendors to verify product availability and to obtain price quotes.
- Responsible for administering company policies to co-workers through direction of Regional Purchasing Manager.
- Assists with purchase order management.
- Responsible for new hire onboarding and procurement training.
- Initial escalation point for vendor compliance issues, quality control and overall vendor performance.
- Assists Regional Procurement Managers in duties where deemed necessary.
- Review objectives and collaborate across business units with Customer Service, Warehousing, Sales, Quality, etc.
- Assist with identifying vendors, with collaboration from Category Managers, to satisfy customers’ objectives.
- Reports on all activities will be done monthly and submitted to Regional Procurement Manager.
- Performs other duties and / or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement & Distribution Environments
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of packaging product knowledge and must be familiar with terminology of the trade.
- Demonstrated competence in all facets related to procurement.
- Knowledge of the packaging industry and corresponding markets.
- Ability to confidently navigate through SAP.
- Excellent computer skills
