The Event Manager is responsible for the planning, design, production, promotion, overall co-ordination and profitability of an event. The Event Manager is a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events, such as meetings, conferences, and conventions.
Plan and develop documents, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements (including banquet event orders, timelines/runs-of-show, and staffing)
Communicate event information with department heads to ensure every department knows their responsibilities for each event such as facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements and event security
Research suppliers and contractors, negotiate prices and sign agreements, based on client’s needs
Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example: load-in/load-out)
Coordinate and schedule appropriate staff relating to the event
Coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly and to budget
Hire, train, and supervise support staff required for events, including House Manager, giving full briefings based on latest version of the event order
Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, insurance, health and safety obligations are followed and resolution of any problems that arise
Oversee the dismantling and removal of the event and clear the venue efficiently
Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details.
Understanding of ticketed events and different demographics of genre/fans
Produce post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved.

Education And Experience
Proven experience as event manager with at least five years’ experience.
Skilled in project management
Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
Project management experience
