What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stagehand position at Orpheum?
Position Summary
The stagehand’s responsibilities are to assist in the delivery, set up, operation, dismantling and strike of equipment and supplies needed for client events (i.e. corporate meetings, concert production, theatrical productions, special events, etc.). Such equipment often includes audio systems, lighting systems, staging and scenery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in stage and event production set-up and breakdown.
- Load trucks, move stage and facility equipment.
- Handle audio, lighting, scenic, rigging equipment.
- Provide for stage changes during shows and events.
- Install and remove chairs and tables from audience floor.
- Help with custodial duties to keep the stage and backstage areas clean, safe and maintained.
- Complete other duties as assigned
Required Skills And Abilities
- Excellent understanding of, and adherence to, safety requirements.

Capability with equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, standard and power tools, and audio/video equipment highly desirable.

Ability to work with frequent interruptions while maintaining strong detail orientation, be flexible and adaptable under varied conditions and requirements, and maintain composure/perform well under time pressures.

May be asked to work unconventional, varied schedules including overnight shifts.
Education And Experience
- At least two (2) years experience in theatrical or live event production
