The Supervisor, Accounting is an integral part of the US Finance function supporting inventory management and intercompany activities for commercial operations. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including monthly close activities and a variety of special projects. The role is a key contributor in the continued movement towards the harmonization of internal reporting processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Independently prepares and reviews work in the following areas:
- Journal entries, such as accrued liabilities, transfer price adjustments, finished goods, inventory reserves, standard cost revaluation, contract manufacturing
- Review and analyze intercompany balances primarily as they relate to inventory activity as well as other miscellaneous activities
- Balance sheet account reconciliations
- Balance sheet account roll forwards, including variance analysis and explanations
- Monthly distribution of inventory reporting to supply chain
- Prepare and present variance commentary for the Monthly Accounting Review
- Support internal and external SOX 404 audit requests and compliance requirements
Other Responsibilities
- Support departmental, functional and corporate initiatives
- Assist with the application of GAAP to new transactions
- Establish rapport and build cooperative, respectful working relationships with relevant internal and external parties
- As departmental workloads change, additional responsibilities may be required
Qualifications
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with similar responsibilities in a $500M business
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Required: Advanced MS Excel / MS Office
- Preferred: CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience
- Preferred: Experience with SAP/HFM
