The Master Data & Serialization Specialist will be the critical role in consolidating Material Master data from business partners across Finance, Quality Management, Supply Chain, Sales, Procurement, and Manufacturing. A centralized organization for creating and maintaining material master data that enables cross-functional processes. This data must be consistent with global standards and functional design to drive greater consistency and accuracy of data. Good quality of this data can be an asset in driving world class operations, providing the ability to use data as a competitive advantage, and reducing unnecessary waste. You will ensure data is consistent with business scenarios and will collaborate with IT Data Governance partners to continuously improve data maintenance processes and find opportunities for Data Quality exception reporting. MUST HAVE: Master Date, Sterilization, and GS1 experience in a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or medical device environment.

The role is hybrid with three days a week in office in Bridgewater, NJ or 100% remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Master Data

  • Create new materials in the ERP System to enable transacting (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales Order processing, Planning, distribution, etc.)
  • Extend materials to additional plants within the ERP System to enable transaction within various sales organizations, plants and distribution centers.
  • Maintenance of material master data in the ERP System in accordance Business Partner requests, support data quality requirements and other changes as required.
  • Provide data quality reviews to ensure material master data complies with policies, procedures, SAP functionality requirements and support downstream data requirements.
  • ERP System data extractions and mass load of material master data to support material creations, changes, and other related material data requirements.
  • Creates and maintains group SOPs, including process flow mapping as needed.
  • Provide reports to key business partners on the status of new materials within the creation/change processes.
  • Works with key IT Data Governance partners for continuous improvement in data quality reporting or workflow capabilities.

Serialization

  • Global Serialization business process support and subject matter expert.
  • Monitor international guidance documents, market requirements, and disseminate info to broader business stakeholders
  • SME responsible for defining process and tools used in setup and maintenance of Global Master Data, government systems and third party systems as applicable.
  • Support the training of users in the business processes globally; contribute to development of training modules.
  • Interface with cross functional tea leads such as Quality and Regulatory to ensure Serialization standards are met
  • Interface with labeling team to confirm new products/standards are ready for operation in serialization systems
  • Assist in the development of specification for Labeling and Packaging
  • Champion CMO/Vendor onboarding activities as it relates to serialization
  • Conduct root cause analysis on issues and develop corrective and preventative actions.
  • Identify ‘continuous improvement’ opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of cross function serialization SOPs/Policies.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders ensuring compliance with business processes and procedures.
  • Support IT Business Analyst- Serialization with informal testing, authoring and execution of qualification documents in scope of role.
  • Provide contract input and support to any acquisitions, licensing deals, divestitures etc. regarding serialization language and risks
  • Function as key point of contact for day-to-day downstream customer troubleshooting

GS1

  • Consolidate visibility and control for all Bausch Health Pre-fixes and ensure access to Licenses with the GS1 US Global Brand Owner process
  • Use “off the shelf” software (GS1 Data Hub) to track / manage allocation of GTIN numbers
  • Build “to be” detailed process workflow. Manage codes and allocation under a single global process.
  • Finalize and execute contract for GS1 Enterprise license including agreeing corporate entity
  • One time effort to consolidate visibility current pre-fixes and clean-up of legacy data
  • Training and Roll-out of process
  • On-going process operation

BACKGROUND:

  • 2 years of experience with serialization/aggregation processes, IT Enterprise Systems, or Track and Trace.
  • 2 years of experience with Master Data Setup and maintaining data in ERP applications preferably SAP.
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in a business, Supply Chain, IT or technical field.
  • Pharmaceutical life sciences or medical device industry experience.
  • The role collaborates with global teams and travel may be up to 10%.
  • Ability to identify and become proficient with the use of innovative and collaborative applications/tools (included but not limited to Teams, Zoom, Whiteboard, SharePoint, Microsoft O365 Applications, etc.).
  • Problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Diplomatic, collaborator with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication links globally.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute systematically.
  • Confident verbal and written communicator, able to train and impart knowledge effectively. Prior training experience a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong adherence to deadlines.
  • Self-motivating, enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently.
  • Fundamental knowledge concepts, practices, and procedures of data management.
