Medical Assistant

Ortho Missouri (OrthoMO) is an established orthopedic and occupational health practice located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The sole purpose of our practice is to serve our patients. Therefore, we have made it our promise to see, hear, and care for them as quickly and efficiently as possible, knowing the impact timeliness can have on healing and quality of life.

OrthoMO is looking to add a Full-Time medical assistant or LPN to our practice. We are looking for a team player that is highly motivated, professional communicator, and that has a great deal of experience in the clinical setting.

Duties to include and not limited to:

· EMR documentation

· Orders within EMR system

· Rooming patients

· Vitals

· Immunization

· Phlebotomy

· Drug screen testing

· Create X-ray orders

· Cast removal/application

· Suture/Staple removal

· Splint application and removal

· Assist Provider directly with in office procedures

· Front desk check in and out

· Chart Prep and prep for same day add-on patients

· Scheduling appointments

· Pre-certifications for Surgery or other diagnostic testing

· Surgery orders and pre-op patient education

· Patient phone calls and documentation

· Incoming fax completion

· Complete Patient tasks

· Inventory and Stocking rooms/cabinets/lab

· Sorting and scanning of medical records

· Coordinate necessary equipment for surgical cases

· The ability to use Outlook and Teams

Physical Requirements:

• Requires extensive mobility: walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Pushing, pulling, and lifting of equipment and/or patients
• Requires mental alertness and accuracy for decision making
• Requires ability to speak, hear, and to identify and distinguish colors
• Use of hands to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape.
• Repetitive motion required for extensive use of computers.
• Good visual acuity
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Medical assisting certification is not required but preferred.

Pay range based on experience and other factors ($16-$20/hr.)

Eligible for very generous 401(k) profit sharing and able to deferral own money the first of the month after 60 days of full-time employment.
