CASH & CARRY CASHIER/ORDER SELECTOR

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for taking and fulfilling food service orders for the public. This position requires the operation of a cash register and credit card machine, as well as operating an electric pallet jack and/or forklift. Responsible for collecting payments and giving accurate change. Attention to detail in entering orders in computer and selecting the correct products from warehouse for customer orders and delivering product to the loading dock in a safe and efficient manner is required. This position requires working 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Must be able to stand and lift up to 75lbs. Job requires working in areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather conditions, and on other environments (Dry, Cooler, Freezer).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for overall operation of the cash & carry department.
• Takes orders from the public and accurately manages cash drawer.
• Hand selects orders within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures, including Dry, Cooler, and Freezer.
• Must use RF Scanner to scan label and product to ensure accuracy.
• Operate an electric pallet jack and/or forklift to transport product.
• Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment
• Frequently lift products that weigh 1-75 pounds, frequently reach up to 72 inches; constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift, retrieving items from lower shelf areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications:

• 18 years of age
• Considerable strength and endurance is required to safely and successfully perform the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
• 3 months' warehouse experience
• 3 months' experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift
• 3 month’s experience operating a cash register/credit card machine

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
