LSA - Konik Lead

Description

The Lead is responsible for the hour to hour running of a designated group of machines within the production facility as a whole. The Lead will be responsible, with minimal guidance, for the reallocation of resources on an ongoing basis to maximize scheduling to meet demand.

• Ensures that the Plant’s Quality Policy, Operational Procedures and High Standards of Workmanship are maintained at all times
• Participates in Unit Leadership Team meetings
• Assists with and supports new employee training
• Audits preventive maintenance schedule
• Responsible for consistent compliance by production employees to all local and Company safety rules as well as any regulatory standards
• Maintain hour boards
• Assist in good housekeeping practices – keep work area and walkway clean and free of debris.
• Ensures that KONIK kits are being assembled correctly.
• Ensure that inventory levels are correct and up to date.
• Need to be Fork Truck certified.

Qualifications

• Some experience in a fabrication area or manufacturing environment is preferred
• Track record of excellent safety, quality, as well as a being a self-starter
• Lean manufacturing training/experience is a huge plus
• Ability to perform simple calculations and follow written instructions
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and within a team
• Record and maintain accurate records with attention to detail
• Must be able to work safely, watch out for the safety of others and maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition
• Proficient in AX, and ability to understand KONIK kitting schedule.
• Understanding of KONIK parts.
• Need to be Fork Truck certified.

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• A minimum of 6 months of employment with Lafayette Steel and Aluminum preferred
• No corrective actions within the last year or duration of employment, if less than 1 year

This position is required to work in manufacturing environment facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
