What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Technician I position at OSF HealthCare?
Expected pay for this position is $17.85 - $21.00/hour.
Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
3rd shift additional $2.25/hour.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The instrument technician-Surgery will be responsible for detailed knowledge of the inter-departmental needs between OR, Case Carts, and the Sterile Processing Department. They will coordinate/communicate daily instrument needs with OR mission partners and team leaders. Must be competent in proper cleaning, sterilizing and inspecting of instrumentation. Must be proficient and responsible for all aspects of the Immediate Use Sterilization process, as well and handling Biologic Indicator testing as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Other skills/knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent prioritization/organization skills
- Basic knowledge reading computer printouts and working from task list
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
License/Certification:
- Certification in sterile processing at the technician level or higher from an accredited organization
Experience:
- 1 year experience in a Sterile Processing Department
