POSITION SUMMARY:
The Polysomnographic Technologist works collectively with the Medical Director, Leadership, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee. Provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Must meet one of the following requirements:
Must obtain one of the following within 24 months of hire. (Certification extensions may be granted up to an extra 12 months if approved by leadership and there is a business need to do so.)
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: An associate's degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics).
Other skills/knowledge: Analytical skills necessary to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data and conduct diagnostic procedures. Interpersonal skills necessary to explain procedures to patient to alleviate their apprehensions and gain their cooperation.
