We are looking for a Machine Operator II to join our growing team! The process of making cutting tools is at the core of our organization. The Machine Operator II will operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to perform various machine functions. This position transforms a blank into a quality cutting tool.
Job Functions for Machine Operator II:
Most of the workplace is in a temperature-controlled environment with better-than-adequate lighting. The noise level is usually moderate, but it is a manufacturing environment with dust and oil throughout the location.
Compensation type:
Hours: 2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday), or 10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. (Sunday night - Friday morning)
Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Job Functions for Machine Operator II:
- Follows all factory procedures regarding safety, production, and quality
- Reads and interprets blueprints and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
- Loads tool blanks in the machine
- Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions
- Stops machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications to .002 tolerances
- Collect Total Indicator Reading (TIR) Measurements (circular run out) for tool to .002
- Critical thinking skills – determine the relationship between two measurements – for example, diameter in front vs. diameter in back within tolerance of prints
- Use of Winslow, Helicheck, and other tools for measurement readings Visually inspects and measures standard tools
- Adjust the machine (size) or alert the supervisor as necessary
- Cleans machine, tooling, parts, and work area
- Alerts supervisor or setup personnel of any errors, conditions, or problems affecting quality, safety, or performance
- Demonstrate commitment to company values, a strong sense of cooperation, and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Some High School experience or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of cutting tools
- Previous experience in a manufacturing work environment
