Summary of Job Description The position, Pump Technician, is responsible for assembling, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling pumps and pump systems on fire trucks due to configuration changes, customer requirements, or part/system failures. Essential Functions Utilize proper tools to align, drill, and secure components with correct bolts and torque specifications Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures Ability to perform all required assembly operations in designated work area Ability to interact with customers and customer representatives in a professional manner consistent with company practices Understand the basic functions of hydro, hydraulic, and electrical pump mechanisms Ability to direct work activities of other associates in designated work area and provide detailed instructions related to assembly tasks Possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to work area Reconfigure pumps and pump systems to meet specific customer and configuration requirements Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills Regular attendance required All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent education Five or more years of related experience Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions Relevant one-year certificate from college or technical school Five years diagnosing and repairing pumps and pump systems Demonstrate experience using various power and pneumatic tools Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings Basic computer skills and knowledge of common business software platforms and programs Other Physical Requirements *All positions require the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
