Altaflex, a division of OSI Electronics is seeking a Director of Quality to plan, coordinate, and direct quality and reliability programs designed to ensure quality control, quality assurance, and reliability of the production of products consistent with IPC-6012 and IPC-6013 specifications. Selected individual will help to implement relevant work instructions and procedures and implement SPC in all critical process areas. Will be responsible for analyzing defective materials for root cause and corrective action, as well as developing scrap and rework reduction programs in conjunction with manufacturing. Will also manage internal quality system engineering support for receiving inspection, in-process inspection audits/support, outgoing QC, and group testing.
Responsibilities:
  • Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals, AS9100, and ISO standards.
  • Interfaces with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues.
  • Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Decides whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor based on a review by the quality engineer.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Directs workers engaged in quality inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of industry (IPC / MIL) quality standards.
    Plays active role on quality management teams within organization.
  • Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant field is required.
  • 10 years of hands-on quality assurance inspection/test/documentation experience in an electronics manufacturing environment. Knowledge of IPC-A-600/610/620 and IPC-6012/6013 an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO13485 and manufacturing/process technology desirable
  • Requires good working knowledge of SPC, FMEA, and DOE techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and test specifications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Citizenship Requirements
Must be a U.S. person or able to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.
