A Meditech to Cerner Data Migration Specialist is responsible for transferring data and information from the Meditech healthcare information system to the Cerner healthcare system. This role involves understanding the intricacies of both systems, including their data structures, formats, and requirements.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Data Analysis: Analyzing data structures and formats within Meditech and Cerner systems to determine the best approach for migration.
  • Mapping Data: Creating mapping documents to translate data from Meditech to Cerner and ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process.
  • Data Extraction and Transformation: Extracting data from Meditech databases, transforming it into a format compatible with Cerner, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of the migrated data.
  • Testing and Validation: Conducting thorough testing of the migrated data in the Cerner system to ensure it meets accuracy, completeness, and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies encountered during the migration process, including data validation errors and mapping discrepancies.
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of the migration process, including mapping specifications, test results, and any issues encountered and their resolutions.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the IT team, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to ensure smooth and successful data migration.
  • Training and Support: Providing training and support to end-users and stakeholders on accessing and using the migrated data within the Cerner system.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and industry standards throughout the migration process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and optimizations in data migration procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Overall, a Meditech to Cerner Data Migration Specialist plays a critical role in facilitating the transition of healthcare organizations from one system to another, ensuring the seamless transfer of data while maintaining data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in ETL processes, SQL, and Python for data migration tasks.
- Experience working with Oracle databases and data warehouses.
- Familiarity with AWS services, Java programming, and Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Apache Hive.
- Knowledge of Meditech systems, patient monitoring processes, and data structures.
- Ability to work with Microsoft SQL Server, Informatica, and Spark for data migration projects.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, RESTful API integration, and database design principles.
- Strong analytical skills for data analysis and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like VBA, Bash, and Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
- Experience in analytics and utilizing tools for data manipulation and visualization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Required)
