POSITION PURPOSE

Osprey Management has an immediate opening for an outgoing part-time Storage Associate to assist at several of our Anchorage locations. Both of these location have U-Haul truck rental services.  The ideal Self Storage Associate candidate would have a minimum of 2 years retail sales and customer service experience, along with strong multitasking abilities. The Self-Storage Associate assists in maintaining the daily operations of a self-storage facility. The Self Storage Associate position requires the skills of sales and customer service on a daily basis.  For the U-Haul customer service portion of this role, you'll assist customers both in-store and outside, offering guidance on products and services. Additionally, you'll handle tasks like moving and connecting U-Haul trucks and trailers, maintaining equipment cleanliness and safety, and providing education to customers.

SELF STORAGE ASSOCIATE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Self Storage Associate will provide excellent customer service while renting storage spaces based on customers’ needs
• Providing excellent service and building excellent rapport with new and existing customers
• Accepting payments and completing daily bank deposits
• Keeping the property and office clean and tidy, walking around the property performing lock checks and showing the units to customers
• Physical requirements of the job include daily walks of the property, cleaning the units and the property, opening and closing the storage doors (up to 50 lbs.), and similar light activities
• Ensure office hours are covered as posted
• Monitor security of property and act quickly to resolve security questions and problems, 
• Participate in making collections calls to tenants with past due balances 
• Promote rentals by answering telephone inquires and providing information to walk-in customers 
• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services
• Install hitches and trailer wiring.
• Use company provided software for tracking payments, leases and maintain accurate records for each customer 
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot including checking fluid levels.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services.
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.

SELF STORAGE ASSOCIATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred Self-Storage experience
• U-Haul or rental truck experience preferred but not mandatory
• Working knowledge of Computer skills (Microsoft office).
• Highly organized and disciplined.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to follow directions well.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Define and solve problems.
• Willingness to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds
• Must have flexible availability to work Monday – Saturday.  Saturday availability is required
• Must have reliable transportation to be able to potentially float between 2 locations
