Supports Tech Lab Supervisor by coordinating the execution of prosthetics orders, managing daily activities of the work cell(s) team and providing process solutions and improvements. Provides people leadership to a small team of technicians as direct reports under guidance of Tech Lab Supervisor. Responsibilities: Proven track record of teamwork and demonstrated leadership potential Completes tasks and projects that may not have clearly established procedures. Review and track metrics for designated work cell(s) on daily, weekly, monthly basis. Prioritize orders received into department. Coordinate training courses for techs on any new techniques or processes. Provide direction to production employees on order priorities and schedule. Ensure employees comply with required quality levels and process procedures. Ensure production areas are clean and organized. Document and update work instructions as required by process changes and improvements. Fabricates and repairs prosthetic devices following order specifications and established work instructions. Must be good at operating machinery such as power tools and need a high level of hand-eye coordination. Mixes pigments according to formula to duplicate skin coloring of patient. Tests prostheses for freedom of movement, alignment of parts, and biomechanical stability, using plumb line and alignment fixtures. Communicates with Tech Lab Supervisor about manufacturing delays and resource (labor and materials) availability. Under guidance of Tech Lab Supervisor, carries out team lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. All employees must be aware, have knowledge and shall have received general training in Quality requirements of Össur. Training takes place in the Onboarding process and in New Employee Orientation. More specific Quality training is job specific. All training related to the quality management system is done in accordance to the Training Management Process (QM1681). Exercises good use of company funds and property within the set guidelines. Maintains an honest and professional attitude as the company’s representative at all times. Contributes to a safe working environment by maintaining own workspace and reporting any potential hazards. Adhere to Company’s safety rules Adhere to Company Values – Honesty – Frugality - Courage Perform other duties as requested Qualifications: Graduate of high school or GED Minimum of 2 years as an Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician, or equivalent experience in a custom manufacturing environment Self-motivated and dependable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven track record of teamwork and demonstrated leadership potential Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner. Basic Knowledge of Ossur products (by training or experience). Knowledge of Ossur products will be obtained by working with R & D, Customer Service, and Engineering. Basic computer knowledge, familiar with MS Windows, particularly Excel and Word, web based interfaces, SharePoint. Strong written and oral communication skills Must be customer, quality and results oriented. Attends periodic People Leader and Production Systems classes/seminars to grow in knowledge relating to management and effective production operations The US base salary range for this full-time position is $20.52 - $27.98 benefits.
