What are the responsibilities and job description for the Textile Associate position at Oswego Industries, Inc.?
SUMMARY: The Production Support Associate - Textiles is primarily responsible for the operation of an industrial sewing machine to produce various products in the Textiles Department. Secondary responsibility to other department for direct or indirect labor as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Operates and tends equipment to sew and adjust machine functions as necessary using dials, pedals, levers, panel buttons, etc.
- Monitors quality of produced sub-assemblies and assemblies by inspecting each part before and after it is produced for dirt and defects.
- Keeps supplies readily available and organized.
- Understands the handling of product and proper methods of stitching according to Quality Manual or supervisor’s instructions.
- Ensures work area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follows prescribed safety and housekeeping regulations.
- Counts, sorts, and stacks finished work pieces and dispose of waste material. Maintain daily production records of work neatly and accurately.
- Clearly labels work in progress, and finished goods.
- Complies with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out, and all other Safety requirements.
- Consistently adheres to and support company policies, Work Instructions and/or other procedures, and ISO requirements.
- Reports defective materials, processes, equipment, or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Performs related duties as required by supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read tape measure, read and understand patterns and prints, comprehend instructions, administrative correspondences, and memos.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to operate tools and machinery such as tape measure, fabric shears, and sewing machine.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, bend, use hands, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pound..
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
