JOB SUMMARY
In this role, the support person will oversee IT systems and assets, assist with upgrades and fixes, and provide training and support as needed. The IT Support Specialist will have extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, network maintenance, and industry trends to keep us current. Engaging with employees throughout the company, the IT support person will have an immediate impact on the efficiency of our operations and overall growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Acts as onsite point of contact for IT issues.
- Research, document, and provide confident, accurate solutions to user problems on a timely basis, providing appropriate progress reporting and status updates.
- Prioritization of calls, tickets and managing workflow.
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Must be consistent in performance with minimal absence and unapproved leave.
- Maintain expert knowledge of new and existing hardware and equipment.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance with the use of the company’s hardware and software to all employees.
- Manage special equipment requests from users with management approval.
- Responsible for addressing and resolving all user hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Accurately maintain hardware inventory and any associated warranties in the OTECH database.
- Work with Vendors to RMA or warranty equipment and perform repair and replacements of all user equipment as needed.
- Maintain expert knowledge on all applications and technology platforms used at OTECH.
- Provide support for all OTECH employees via phone and email.
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware, software, and telephone issues. Research unresolved issues using all available resources.
- Troubleshoot technological issues and solve problems quickly to ensure our business operations run smoothly.
- Install all recent technology for the company, including computer operating systems, software programs and applications, new desktops, and other computer hardware.
- Perform regular maintenance for our computer systems, computers, printers, network systems, and any other technical equipment.
- Administer new user accounts, work email addresses, and access levels to new employees to ensure they have everything they need to work efficiently.
- Run security checks on all of our systems to ensure we are protected from cybersecurity threats.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree is preferred with 2 years’ experience but will consider an associate degree with 5 years’ experience.

Duties are occasionally performed in manufacturing areas where compliance with applicable safety rules is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is moderate.
