Overview

The Compliance and Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for the development and management of HearingLife’s compliance policy & procedure activities, compliance policy creation / enhancement, loss prevention investigations, and clinical auditing activities within their territory.

This person leverages their compliance, loss prevention, and process development to help build and implement programs which significantly improve business compliance with policy and procedures, mitigate risk of noncompliant activities, and preserve revenue and profitability while maintaining a commitment to quality patient care and team member experiences.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions : · Enforce compliance department policies and procedures, and work to improve our performance on Compliance key metrics.

  • Support program development and ongoing management of corporate loss prevention safety and security management guidelines and procedures at clinic level and throughout the corporate structure.
  • Review patient documentation for compliance, clarity, and company and patient protections. Work with clinic teams and field leaders to address non-compliance.
  • Evaluate / investigate situational details involved with patient refunds, injury or complaints, disputed / problematic claims, outstanding accounts, theft, fraud, etc.

for resolution and recommended future process improvements to minimize occurrences.· Audit current provider / patient operating practices, compliance to federal and state laws, dispensing rules, communications, data management for compliance with all appropriate laws and requirements, including all HIPAA protections.

Take any necessary actions for full compliance.· Audit clinics for loss prevention issues and opportunities to improve the clinics financial performance.

  • Build relationships with territory field teams and other departments to facilitate cooperation and shared objectives for the protection of our team members, customers, assets, and profitability.
  • Analyze exception reporting which identifies key areas of non-compliance / risks. Develop and implement plans to address in their territory.
  • Audit process integrity within billing and revenue cycle management and report findings to finance and Loss Prevention leadership· Assess Loss Prevention related business processes in Clinic or Support Center and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Work with Learning & Development Team on Compliance and Loss Prevention related training needs.· Reinforce training of field teams and support center as needed to improve process and policy gaps.
  • Reduce Team Member operational errors by identifying areas of compliance / risk / loss and implementing plans which reduce errors.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are executed for proper cash management and reconciliation.· Monitor business and employee license compliance.
  • Ensure appropriate pricing and discounting processes are followed and issues are resolved.· Direct the development, implementation, and oversight of emergency procedures within territory.
  • Monitor employee off-boarding practices to mitigate loss of company assets within territory.· Work with finance as directed to ensure compliance with inventory management policies.
  • Work with legal, HR and compliance as directed to conduct investigations of losses of company assets and / or non-compliance.
  • Work with business systems and corporate IT organization as needed to reduce risk of loss of company digital property and assets, including patient records.
  • Help identify and make recommendations for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices.· Work with the Compliance and LP team to create shared company informational business compliance and loss prevention information on company’s communication platform ( library ) for easy access and referencing;

include best practices strategies, standards.· Maintain required reports and documentation.· Develop and deliver department communications, business updates, key performance metrics, project status reports and other information.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

50% travel time is required, mostly air travel, driving, and frequent hotel stays. It is beneficial to have residence in the Midwest-West area of the US and to be conveniently located near a major airport.

Qualifications

Education and Experience : · Must have a bachelor’s degree and 2 years in a management level position or, in lieu of degree, 6 years of equivalent work experience with 2 years in a management level position.

3 years of hearing healthcare business experience, state and / or federal regulatory compliance management, policy and procedure development, or quality assessment and management.

3 years of loss prevention experience or experience in retail, consumer goods, healthcare, insurance, or related industries· Loss Prevention Certification a plus, but not necessary· Proven loss prevention or equivalent business experience in retail, consumer goods, healthcare, insurance, or related industries.
