OT541: TFP - Florence, SC 1500 Otis Way, Florence, SC, 29501 USAThe Assembler 2 is responsible for performing all the Level 1 elements, using hand tools, small machines, HIPOT testers, and all mechanical assembly. The Assembler 2 will demonstrate proficiency in using blueprints, Manufacturing Tracking System (MTS), On Floor Sheets (OFS). The Assembler 2 will demonstrate advanced ability interacting with Quality personnel by driving continuous improvement through active product resolution, by reporting and investigating assembly defects or supplier failures.
Perform mechanical assembly and verify product has been assembled in accordance with work instructions. Occasionally perform HiPot testing and operate small machines such as PEM machine, Clinch, and Stud Welder.
Utilize gauges such as calipers and protractors to verify that product dimensions comply with specifications. In the event a nonconformance is detected, perform basic assembly rework on various assemblies.
Utilize shop floor management system to drive Tier 1, 5S, and cross-training principles to promote continuous improvement
Participate in required Level II OJT and cross-training on Level III assembly
Perform other duties as requested or assigned by supervisor or manager
Basic reading, writing, and math ability. Basic knowledge of computer applications and use of product documents to ensure product compliance. Effective communication skills to drive improvement in defect prevention and flexibility to foster learning all Level 1 and 2 products/stations and cell configurations. Ability to train others in product configurations to drive cross-training and knowledge transfer.
