Electrical Engineer

The position will play a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems, while working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments. The candidate should be able to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, building layouts in order to analyze complex problems and identify root cause issues and develop innovative solutions. Ability to work across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel is required. Experience/Qualifications BS Degree in electrical engineering degree with 3 years of experience Elevator Industry field experience will be given consideration Preferred Skills: Sound electrical engineering background (wiring diagrams, schematics, systems analysis, motor and control applications, and control logic) Experience with system integration of modular components Experience with the development of PCB’s Integration of products into manufacturing Elevator systems knowledge is a plus Experience working with code and enforcement agencies. i.e. CSA, ASME, NFPA, TSSA, and AHJ’s Experience working with suppliers/3rd parties Hands on experience with test and measurement equipment, to support test and troubleshooting at component and system level Basic understanding of mechanical and software functions (e.g. troughing design, packaging electrical systems, …etc) Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals and / or teams at all levels and disciplines Strong communications skills and self-starter MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) ECAD tools (Allegro PCB, Cadence, E3, etc.) Otis is the world leader in reliable, efficient and technologically advanced elevators, escalators and people-moving systems.
