Cook / Assistant Teacher

The position of Cook plays an important role in our centers ensuring children have the right fuel for their hard work learning, playing and growing all day. You will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch and a snack for each classroom which includes all meal planning, ordering, prep, and cleanup. Meals must be planned ahead with age-appropriate foods and follow regulatory guidelines. Sanitation is also important including ensuring tools, equipment, kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and orderly.

All Teachers are expected to plan, direct, and participate in age-appropriate activities designed to promote the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of children. You will prepare children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education from infancy to school age using our provided curriculum. You will also assist in daily day care such as feeding, changing, and nap time. You will maintain interactive and open communication with parents and other team members using our Classroom Management system. Lead Teachers will also oversee classroom management, design lesson plans, and fulfill requests made by the Assistant Director/Director.

What you will bring as a Team Member:

• 1-year minimum experience cooking in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of nut and the big 8 allergies.
• Ability to pass background screening including no felonies.
• Outgoing, kind, friendly personality.
• Must feel comfortable around children.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Foster an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child and family.
• Establish and enforce high expectations for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order.
• Come to work on time, enthusiastic, committed, & professionally prepared every day.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Job Type: Full-time

Requirements: Must be 18 years old, or 21 in the state of Tennessee. Must have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of experience, or CDA, Associate's or Bachelor's in Child Care related major and 1 year of experience.
