Otter Products is hiring for a Sr. Plastics Injection Molding Process Engineer to join our incredible supply chain team in Fort Collins, CO!
As the Sr. Process Engineer of Plastics Injection Molding, you will serve as a subject matter expert providing technical leadership in the development and optimization of injection molding processes and practices. Your role will partner with our Tooling and Molding suppliers on new projects to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement of products. You will also support our Tooling and Process Quality Engineers with major project launches throughout the year. Additionally, your role will be responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices. From time to time, you will be called upon to help support Tooling team members with design for manufacturability (DFM) and mold flow analysis. To succeed in this role, you must have extensive plastic material knowledge relating to material properties and processing.

Responsibilities
- Follow all employee guidelines and Quality System Regulations as defined by practices, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that customer requirements and regulation are met.
- Perform process window studies for new molds, materials, and processes.
- Lead the qualification of new tooling and establishment of molding process parameters using techniques like Design of Experiment, Statistical Process Analysis, etc. to ensure robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
- Provide technical support and solution to molding processes focusing cycle time reduction, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities, improve on part quality and statistical capability enhancements.
- Review and validate contract manufacturers’ process documentation for accuracy and ensure implementation.
- Work with material vendors to resolve material issues.
- Develop and maintain process documentation ensuring that processes and procedures are clearly stated and understandable for all management and company personnel.
- Work with tooling and molding techniques including but not limited to insert molding, 2 shot molding, transfer molding, injection compression molding, in-mold decoration, and liquid silicon molding.
- Work independently on new process development as well as troubleshoot current production issues.
- Travel independently to domestic and international suppliers and venders, up to 40%. Critical time of year may require travel with short notice.
- Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
- Minimum of six years of experience with hands-on plastic injection mold/machine processing.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Factory experience working with global suppliers, JDM, CM, ODM required.
- Experience in supplier management required.
- Ability to travel up to 40% internationally required.

USD $98,600.00/Yr.
For US Based Roles Only - Base Compensation Range Maximum
USD $130,000.00/Yr.
