The Role?
We are seeking a Financial Analyst that will have an immediate focus on the sales and marketing (incl. digital) spaces. This is a new role and will report to the Director of Financial Analysis and Strategy. This position will have the opportunity to provide financial support to marketing and sales teams and help facilitate key decisions related to sales and marketing/merchandising spending, with a focus on ensuring profitable growth and return on investment for all spending decisions. Financial oversight includes detailed pro-forma planning and modeling of activities, promotional spend tracking and review, forecasting, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.
This role’s emphasis will be on maintaining timely reporting across sales and marketing, while helping the team explore product level trends. The successful individual will have a strong quantitative background, solid academic achievement, excellent financial modeling and data manipulation skills, strong communication and people skills, ability to learn quickly.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and maintain monthly performance marketing reports, tracking media spending and assessing its effectiveness.
- Develop and update sales reports, including monthly product sales breakdowns, channel performance, and insights on new product launches.
- Conduct product level analyses to identify and highlight trends, helping the team understand key drivers of sales and marketing success.
- Investigate and address gaps between forecasted sales and actual performance, providing insights for improved forecasting accuracy.
- Define, segment, and evaluate product classifications, considering factors such as size, growth, and competitive activity to inform strategic decision-making.
- Generate a general scorecard for markets, spaces, and product classifications to assess overall performance.
- Collaborate with various departments to address specific financial analysis needs and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
- Utilize strong quantitative and financial modeling skills to support detailed pro-forma planning and modeling activities.
- Track and review promotional spend, ensuring alignment with overall financial objectives and identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Contribute to forecasting activities and provide ad-hoc analysis to support key decision-making processes.
- Create dashboards and reports as needed to monitor spending and results, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial management.
- Demonstrate a quick learning ability to adapt to evolving business needs and industry dynamics.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst

- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Concentration in quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Accounting, Finance) or equivalent.
- Strong modeling skills in Excel and data management required. Candidates should be very familiar with pivot tables, VLookups, database management, financial terminology (ROI and NPV calculations, etc.).
- Experience working in consumer products, beauty, e-commerce, or retail.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and the ability to influence others.
- Self-starter and shows initiative and quickly learn the specifics of marketing and sales finance.
- Ability to work in teams and independently.
- Advanced spreadsheet knowledge and capabilities.
- Accounting understanding is a plus.
- This position is hybrid (Los Angeles HQ Office), allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work.
- Annual Base Salary Range is $85K - 105K (based on experience)
