What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN position at Our Brand?
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate knowledge of Level of Care criteria for admission and understands the issues, concepts and medical implications essential to the identification and treatment of addiction in adults. Collaborates with the Medical Director when necessary.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the individual medication protocol for clients and withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs.
- Understands the medical and pharmacological resources in treatment of substance use disorders and utilizes standards of care under the scope of the LPN licensure in the administration of medication protocols for withdrawal as evidenced by observation of the assessment process of clients in acute withdrawal, appropriate use of the CINA and CIWA scales, administration of medication with 100% accuracy, appropriate documentation of medication and 100% transcription of physician’s orders.
- Reports pertinent issues and questions to the Medical Director and Program Director.
- Consults with the Medical Director regarding medication and medical issues
- Admission nursing assessments and screenings.
- Conducts regular audits of MARs and controlled medication records.
- Conducts medication counts.
- Identifies discrepancies in counts and documentation, reporting these to the Program Director/Supervisor; Clinical Director/Supervisor.
- Completes Incident Reports.
- Attends multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Attends trainings as assigned.
- Supervises the administration of medication
- Reconciles medications for all clients.
- Complete daily audits of medication logs, controlled substance register, and medication count logs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in any related field
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field (desired)
- License/Registration/Certification: Current Massachusetts LPN Nursing License, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 90 days of hire, Currently CPR certified, Documentation of Ongoing CEUs to HR
