What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Our Brand?
The Social Worker is a key member of the psychiatric outpatient team who provides psychosocial and mental health care services to HIV patients by developing his/her own panel. Works effectively as part of interdisciplinary health care teams; supervises HIV medical case managers and psychosocial support advocate staff and provides direction regarding creation and delivery of HIV case management/ support services
Essential Functions
1. Works with HIV Program Manager, Clinical Director of HIV Services, Adult Medical/HIV Behavioral Health Staff, and other HIV Services to identify the special needs and systematic care of individuals infected with HIV/AIDS or at risk of infection.
2. Provides administrative supervision to staff of HIV case managers/psychosocial support serving HIV-infected individuals including necessary data collection and management
3. Provide mental health counseling in the form of individual or group therapy to HIV/AIDS patients
4. Provide direct supervision to staff of prevention coordinators providing HIV/STD counseling and testing
5. Provide assistance for the production, analysis and timely submission of Part A reporting requirements and attend all required meetings, site visits and other duties necessary for the Part A program
6. Perform other duties as required by Clinical Director.
Competencies
1. Possesses experience working with culturally diverse communities and providing cross-cultural health care delivery.
2. Possesses good communication skills; bicultural/bilingual skills are a plus.
3. Familiar with database systems.
4. Sensitive to confidential information.
6. Experience in substance abuse & HIV in communities of color
7. Minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory position preferred
8. Experience in recruiting/conducting support groups
Required Qualifications
- LMHC and/ or LCSW/ LICSW
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Clinical Social work or closely related program.
