What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Engineering Manager position at Our Company?
The Supply Chain Manager will develop, implement, and manage innovative solutions to solve supply chain problems. These initiatives will drive growth, lower cost, improve service and enhance operational effectiveness. This position will be tasked to support projects aimed to produce higher productivities and efficiencies through the implementation of best practices, new/upgraded technology and automation, process optimization, and product flow among other Supply Chain initiatives. As a part of Supply Chain Management team, this role is accountable for the implementation of the global rollout and support all the processes and additional tools/interfaces within Supply Chain Planning capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manages demand Planning and Supply chain planning (SCP) to predict and coordinate assets to optimize the delivery of goods to the warehouse
- Responsible for developing and maintaining digital report cards on all RTG factories, Carriers and Distribution Centers that will set metrics and provide to proper internal customers such as the Merchandising, Logistics and Distribution Departments
- Manages team and process to ensure goods arrive at the most optimal Distribution Center based on inventory levels and business requirements
- Managing the mapping and documentation of all Supply Chain processes and developing new/improving existing processes for optimization
- Management of Vendors, Carriers and Distribution Centers to ensure accurate and timely movement of goods
- Responsible for inventory optimization
- Liaison between merchandising team and operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations or relevant Business Management
- Minimum 3-5 years of Supervisory experience in any of the following areas; supply chain management, transportation management, dedicated fleet operations, distribution center management, materials handling, decision support systems and technology.
- Experience with routing and scheduling packages and transportation optimization software
- Experience with Process Mapping
- Basic knowledge of supply chain technology
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications such as Visio, Outlook, Excell and Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Inventory Analysis tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, with agencies and vendors
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take corrective action, and to resolve employee inquiries and requests for information
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations
- Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems, implement solutions, and create new processes
- Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner
