Job Posting for Vascular Ultrasound Technician at Our Family Health
Our Family Health Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Ultrasound Technician to join our team. The Vascular Ultrasound Technician will play a critical role in diagnosing and monitoring venous disease by performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vascular anatomy, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform vascular ultrasound examinations to evaluate blood flow and detect abnormalities of the venous system
Provide assistance to the physician or provider during phlebology procedures
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety
Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of vascular structures and blood flow patterns
Analyze ultrasound images to identify and assess vascular conditions such as venous insufficiency and deep vein thrombosis
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound findings and develop treatment plans
Maintain accurate patient records, including ultrasound images, exam reports, and patient demographics
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols for ultrasound procedures
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advances in vascular ultrasound technology and techniques
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding vascular conditions, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options
Ability to perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, insurance approval, and other vein related tasks
Willingness to help with other clinical tasks and/or ultrasounds as time allows
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentials International) certification in Vascular Technology (RVT or RVS)
Must maintain vascular ultrasound credentials by being in good standing with ARDMS or CCI and earning the appropriate amount of CME
Experience as a Vascular Ultrasound Technician in a clinical setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Proficiency in performing a wide range of vascular ultrasound exams, with a focus on venous insufficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and reliable ultrasound images.
Commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
