What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Counselor- All Shifts (7am-3pm), Overnight(11pm-7am),Weekends position at Our Safe Haven?
Our SafeHaven Therapeutic Treatment Center is Located in Castro Valley, CA and is currently seeking candidates for the position for the Professional Residential Counselor/ Support Staff. Our facility's main clientele is teenage foster youth girls(ages 12-18).
The responsibilities of the Professional Residential Counselor is to ensure care, safety and supervision of the youth individually and in groups at all times. Some of the responsibilities will include:
1: Provide non medical care and supervision for each child (i.e. assist with medication, medical and dental visits, adherence to house rules, etc).
2: Some flexibility to work other shifts, if needed.
3: Meal prep for the following day.
4: Teach and role model appropriate conflict management skills.
5: Maintain a clean DMV record at time of and during employment.
Qualifications:
- 21 and older
- Clean driving record and current CA Drivers License
- Education: High School Diploma required, B.S. or A.A. preferred. Experience in psychology, child development, working with emotionally disturbed youth preferred.
- CPR/First Aid training available through facility.
- Ability to pass a Federal/DOJ fingerprint and background check.
- 3 years minimum experience in childcare field
