Financial Analyst

SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a multi-concept organization. This role focuses on but is not limited to assisting with the annual planning and budgeting process, routine KPI reporting, and adhoc analysis via financial modeling in support of Operations. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create and publish KPIs and dashboards/metrics that are timely and insightful by working cross-functionally with multiple departments; identify opportunities for improvement with functional leaders.
2. Responsible for business reporting with extensive focus on (but not limited to):

• Sales, transactions, & check trends
• Detailed sales & profitability impact analysis
• Detailed channel & revenue stream analysis
• Staffing models and recommendations
• Unit-level profitability reviews and recommendations
• Spreadsheet modeling and automation where possible

3. Support development of forecast and operating plans.

4. Provide other ad-hoc analyses as requested.

KEY INTERFACES

On a frequent basis will interface with Director of Finance, Brand Leadership, Corporate and Restaurant Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of previous financial analyst experience, including reporting and variance analysis, budget & forecasting, or operations finance in a multi-unit restaurant company is strongly preferred.
• Advanced ability in Excel to manage large data sets, pivot tables, lookups, if-statements, and other formulas.
• Must be able to turn analysis into insights, and effectively communicate the findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Ability to switch gears quickly and work cross-functionally across concepts.
• Strong communication skills, solid collaborative skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Financial ERP systems / Business Intelligence (BI) experience such as Hyperion Enterprise, MicroStrategy, Essbase, or similar
• Experience with coding languages such as VBA, SQL, Python would be a plus.
