Reporting to the Clinical Director/Manager: Mental Health/AODA, the Clinical Psychologist performs various psychological evaluations for clients, and as ordered by the court. Provides individual and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults.  Provides consultation to various departments, performs crisis services as required, and provides clinical supervision for crisis cases under HSF 34 (III).
 The following duties are most critical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.  

  • Performs psychological evaluations and diagnoses of children, adolescents, adults, and families; submits evaluation to referral source when appropriate.
  • Performs court ordered psychological evaluations and makes recommendations to the court.  Serves as expert witness, providing court testimony regarding evaluation, competency and commitment proceedings, child custody and visitation evaluations, etc.
  • Provides psychotherapy and counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, families, married couples, and other groups.
  • Provides on-call services as assigned.
  • Provides specialized evaluations and ongoing services for specialized populations.
  • Administers psychological, IQ, personality, and other tests as clinically appropriate.
  • Prepares various evaluations, progress notes, letters, reports, etc.
  • Maintains client case files according to defined standards for reporting purposes and for documenting service effectiveness.
  • May participate in supervising and directing the activities of student interns and staff as directed by the Clinical Director.
  • Presents and participates in case staffings.
  • Consults with community health and school personnel to provide in-service or specialized knowledge.
  • Provides clinical supervision for staff whom provide crisis services per HSF 34 (III).
  • Attends various training programs and seminars.  Stays abreast of professional, ethical, and legal issues within the field and maintains licensure as required to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in Wisconsin.
  • Attends Division and Unit meetings as required.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance, works overtime/extra hours as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or a related field, with three to five years psychological evaluation experience.  
  • Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for Psychology license by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer, photocopier, and telephone.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate decimals and percents, and make use of the principles of descriptive statistics.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to conform to goals, policies, and procedures of the Department as well as the Outagamie County Work Rules and Terms of Employment.
  • Knowledge of professional and ethical standards in the administration and interpretation of various psychological instruments.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including referrals, test results, insurance forms, medical charts, diagnostic manuals, etc.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of documents including various psychological evaluations, progress notes, insurance forms, test summaries, etc.
  • Ability to use and interpret psychiatric and other medical and counseling terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, Human Services personnel, physicians, therapists, and other medical personnel, interns, and others verbally and in writing.
