What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Buyer position at Outdoor Voices?

Outdoor Voices is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our Merchandising team in Austin, TX.

What you’ll do:

  • Support with purchase order management, order creation, item creation support, on order reporting and product flow reporting
  • Responsible for management of buying samples and set up for editorials and key meetings
  • Work cross functionally with our Planning and Ecommerce partners to ensure seamless execution of product go live Online and in Stores
  • Maintain communication tools to effectively and accurately flow information to cross- functional teams, such as product knowledge materials, product delivery flows, etc.
  • Ad hoc support to the greater team as needed
  • Assist in weekly recaps of product selling and customer feedback to help inform immediate changes to the business or inform future seasons
  • Keep up to date on market research including assortment, innovation, pricing structure
  • Coordinate communications with all cross functional partners keeping the teams informed on movements in the assortment or plans
  • Responsible for maintaining the Line Plan & ItemMaster as well as communicating out changes
  • Facilitate sample tracking and turnover process to ensure marketing and web assets are delivered in a timely manner

What you need:

  • 1-2 years relevant retail/buying/merchandising experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Introductory experience with looker and netsuite a bonus
  • Demonstrate speed, efficiency and organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
