Job Description:
The Catering & Convention Services Manager solicits and books banquet and catering functions, in addition to planning, up-selling, merchandising, and oversight of all group functions and events. Effectively communicates to all hotel departments, the information necessary to successfully execute all group needs while maintaining a good client relationship. Reviews turnover sales contracts as well as other important information, i.e., room blocks, cut-off dates, special concessions, deposit schedules, and validate with client via turnover letters and correspondences. Manage complete group planning, social & wedding pricing, assesses competitive data and administrative procedures. Prepares, implements, and complies data for strategic sales plan, catering forecast, and other reports as directed and/or required. Participates in planning/site meetings for upcoming groups and other potential business. Participates in Pre-Post Event Meetings and review programs with client. Tours, inspects, and monitors banquet rooms and presentations.
Minimum Requirements
Two (2) years on-property hotel catering/convention service or travel/event management experience preferred. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Japanese speaking preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft programs. Knowledge of Opera and Delphi preferred. Must be able to work flexible shifts and days.
