The Graphic Designer II's responsibilities include design and production of material in both print and digital media for OverDrive marketing initiatives, including corporate branding, product marketing, and marketing for other departments as needed. This position utilizes creativity, innovative ideas and concepts to create promotional materials and corporate brand assets in appropriate formats.
Responsibilities:
- Create artwork independently for internal and external OverDrive marketing efforts, such as tradeshow booths, product/informational sheets, advertisements, etc.
- Work with copywriters and project requestors to produce final design
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials to determine requirements
- Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval. Create visual aspects of marketing materials, website assets and other media, including infographics.
- Work with vendors to prepare quotes and project specifics within budget. Place print orders, prepare files and submit artwork for those orders.
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed and on time.
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.
- Amend designs after feedback.
- Proficiency in understanding how marketing campaigns work.
- Consult with marketing, copywriting and sales teams to create cohesive designs that reflect our corporate cultures and goals.
- Independently and with the team utilize innovative ideas and concepts to create promotional materials, such as digital ads, email designs, brochures, posters and corporate brand elements to reach desired audience segments.
- Work on special projects and create designs as part of longer-term and reoccurring projects.
- Design all materials in a way as to support the OverDrive brand and / or its sub-brands.
- Assist Manager with training new hires.
- Offer expert advice and opinions to team members.
- Produce final artwork from concept with minimal assistance.
- Responsibilities may include ongoing refinement of brand guidelines, recommendations to change and overall organization of logos and other brand marks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 7 years’ of related experience preferably in a corporate setting.
- Proven graphic designing experience with a strong portfolio including finished projects, illustrations or other graphics.
- Strong design technical computer knowledge / proficiency.
- Experience with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, specifically with mockups, web design and multimedia presentation.
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
- Ability to produce final artwork from a concept, task management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good Color Theory, composition skills and a keen eye for aesthetics and details.
- Expert knowledge in two graphic roles (Video / Print / Web).
- Ability to develop the design concept to brand standards and current marketing initiatives.

Ability to suggest to management conceptual ideas that support or influence the brand. - Working knowledge of CSS, HTML and JavaScript a plus, but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
