The Safety Director at Ovie Logistics Express plays a crucial role in upholding the safety and regulatory compliance standards within our transportation operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations, combined with adept organizational skills to effectively manage compliance efforts and mitigate potential risks.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Safety department staff to ensure a smooth operation.
Review pre-hire driver qualification files, including background checks and employment verification.
Conduct new driver orientation sessions to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Maintain meticulous records and manage Driver Qualification (DQ) files in accordance with FMCSA guidelines.
Review driver profiles in LME and Samsara tracking systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Provide coaching, training, and oversight of driver safety events, and behaviors while documenting disciplinary actions when necessary.
Conduct both initial and ongoing driver safety training; utilizing both remote and in-person formats.
Collaborate on departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing Safety & FMCSA Compliance.
Record and report IFTA miles on a normal monthly basis.
Maintain buildings and personnel to keep up with regulations and CTPAT standards.
Confirm compliance with all Insurance and Cargo claims, communicate these to TI Advisors.
Manage State permits as needed for transportation.
This position requires 20% travel
Perform additional as needed duties requested by the Management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
