What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Cross Training position at OWENS CORNING?
JOB OVERVIEW
Owens Corning is looking for qualified candidates to join our Maintenance team full-time in the role of Industrial Electrician. Successful candidates will be trained to maintain the plant equipment designed to manufacture fiberglass reinforcement products. Our focus on a safe work environment with priority given to equipment reliability provides a great opportunity for electrically talented individuals to perform troubleshooting, and repairs as well as planned and preventative maintenance on unique equipment. Demonstrated knowledge and ability in VFDs, PLCs, sensors, automation equipment, and new equipment installations are preferred.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Demonstrated working knowledge of lock-tag-try and the Canadian Electrical Code
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
Interpreting and reading blueprints and electrical drawings
Provide preliminary planning, sketches and estimates for installation, repair, upgrade, and maintenance of electrical systems.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment and resolve identified issues/problems
Knowledge of automation systems and a strong mechanical aptitude
Ongoing personal development, including staying up to date on current electrical techniques
Performs other duties as assigned by the maintenance leader and supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
309A or 442A certificate of qualification as Industrial Electrician
High School Diploma or GED equivalency
1-3 years manufacturing/industrial experience preferred
Participation and successful completion of workplace skills assessment
Be prepared to work a rotating 12-hour day/night shift (Includes weekends and holidays)
