PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Global Manufacturing Security Architect is a critical member of the Owens Corning Information Security team. This team has global responsibility for ensuring the appropriate security processes, policies, and technologies are in place to support Owens Corning’s business goals and objectives.
Aligned with OC's Manufacturing Security and Advanced Manufacturing initiatives and strategies,the Manufacturing Security Architect is a key role in driving the convergence of Information Technology and Operational Technology by partnering with Advanced Manufacturing, peers, senior Global Information Services, security and business leaders to ensure secure implementation of architecture and emerging technologies. Primary responsibilities of this role are to provide consultative guidance, develop actionable recommendations, promote, deliver and maintain OC’s manufacturing infrastructure & security solutions in Information Technology & Operational Technology domain with the focus on networks, systems, applications, and processes.
A successful candidate will have core foundational knowledge in the manufacturing environment with curiosity and motivation to learn security. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to connect and build trust with both engineers and IT staff, collaborate with IT and OT to define secure solutions that meet business needs, be a self-starter who proactively drives for results, has fun and appreciates working with a global team.
Reports to: Security Leader Architecture and Engineering
Span of Control: No direct reports; indirect leadership of project teams and external partners
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacturing Security
- Analyze, review and oversee implementation of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Network designs for security defects and provide recommendations to address defects
- Partner with the Advanced Manufacturing team to create standards for industrial control network infrastructure and systems
- Conduct research on emerging manufacturing security threats. Make recommendations to appropriate stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical guidance to support teams on the implementation of new security solutions
- Design the process to improve security monitoring and early protection detections
- Establish, deliver and maintain security protections in the manufacturing environment aligned with the Manufacturing Security Strategy and other Advanced Manufacturing initiatives
- Provide subject matter expertise in support of manufacturing cybersecurity incident response
- Identify process improvements that support the protection of manufacturing equipment, facilities, networks, software, data and information systems against possible attacks
- Define playbooks for partners to respond to alerts from monitoring systems and platforms to address potentially malicious events in a timely manner
- Drive and report on manufacturing security compliance metrics to key stakeholders
- Perform assessments and audits of manufacturing technologies
- Utilize Owens Corning’s project management tools to develop and implement security solutions which reduce risk or enhance Owens Corning’s security platforms
- Successfully transition management of security solutions to applicable support teams
- Partner with key stakeholders on life-cycle management of manufacturing infrastructure to mitigate r
- Partner with manufacturing application and platform owners to define security and infrastructure requirements and support processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, equivalent degree, or significant industry experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the field where a broad understanding of the relevant technology has been acquired, especially in a manufacturing environment
- Competent in project management theory, knowledge, skills, tools and techniques
- The ability to build trust, connections, and influence stakeholders
- Experience in large improvement and/or new technology implementations
- Acumen in Information Technology or Operational Technology; networks, switches, routers, Windows and Linux operating systems
- Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS), networks, standard enterprise reference architecture, applications, design and protocols, Internet of things (IoT), and other Industry 4.0 technologies or Information technology architectures
DESIRED QUALIFACTIONS
- Experience in design, implementation, and operation of network, systems and industrial control environments, manufacturing, and/or ancillary systems
- A solid understanding of both the network and system integration with the ability to troubleshoot when issues arise
- Knowledge of Purdue model, OSI model, ISO, ISA, NIST and IEC standards as applied to security
- Security concepts, risk management, secure systems design, system hardening and technologies; firewalls, intrusion detection, prevention, and malware analysis
