What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Coordinator position at OWENS CORNING?
SUMMARY
The Training Coordinator plays a key role in the overall productivity & safety of the Nephi facility by developing impactful relationships with leaders and employees while managing training and development programs across the entire facility.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and track all training and development programs that are used at the facility
- Partnering with leaders to ensure all required and desired training is being conducted in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This is not limited to but includes new hire training, re-training, and more.
- Partners with network trainers to understand, share, and implement best practices in training and development
- Partnering with site leaders to develop and track individual and team training plans
- Fully integrating safety into all operations learning sessions/objects as part of “how we work”
- Coaching operators to acquire/improve targeted skills that impact safety and key business metrics
- Measuring performance/training in the work environment and identifying performance/training gaps in individual and team performance.
- Notifies the applicable supervisor when training is inadequate and needs management intervention.
- Record training by using working knowledge of MS Office tools and inputting data in the Learning Management System (LMS) environment
- Participates in the safety, continuous improvement, communication process, and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant
- Creates and presents training status to leaders monthly
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the Supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee should hold the following abilities:
- Understand the plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training.
- Verbal and Written Communications using MS Office and HQMS
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
- Must work well in team environment
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
- Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
- Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be drug and alcohol free
