Looking for one DYNAMIC team member to add to our Juvenile Team in the Lincoln Area!

Our Juvenile Mentors/Coaches work hand-in-hand with Juvenile Probation. As a TEAM (Probation, Owens, Youth, Parents, School System, etc) we work together to bring out the best in every youth we serve.

Our Juvenile Team Members aren't simply staff who go check on kids to see how they are doing. We are a HANDS ON, boots on the ground kind of staff with excellent outcomes because we truly believe every child wants more, can do more, and needs that extra push from a dedicated staff member to hold them accountable and pave the way.

DUTIES

Juvenile Mentors/Coaches provide services to youth who are involved in the court system and Juvenile Probation. In supporting the program guidelines, Juvenile Service Staff:

  • Conduct face to face sessions at various locations with youth assigned
  • Develop and maintain helping relationship emphasizing youth accountability
  • Provide objective written documentation of the youth's compliance/non-compliance with court ordered requirements.
  • Complete required documentation, including discharge information, for assigned youth in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Enter data and reports promptly into NPACS and Omega.
  • Notify supervisor and Probation Officer immediately in the event of a youth crisis, suspected illegal activity or any other youth or program incident
  • Regular and punctual attendance at all appointments
  • Participate in weekly or monthly meetings with the youth's Probation Officer to discuss the youth's progress.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and willing to help out others when needed (case coverage, etc).
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with youth at all times.
  • Understand and respect client confidentiality
  • Attend mandatory trainings
  • Possess a spirit of flexibility
  • Seek supervision when needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in the Criminal Justice Field and/or Equivalent Work, Education & Life Experience.

Own reliable vehicle with a clear driving record (no more than 3 points assessed against your license). Minimum MV Insurance requirements are 100/300.

If not living in Fremont, willing to commute daily to the Fremont area.

Ability to pass a thorough background check including but not limited to:

  • Local, State and National Criminal History
  • Adult/Child Abuse Registry
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • Educational & Work Verification
  • Driver's License Check
  • Drug Screen

Ability to work non-traditional hours and days. Although this position is primarily Monday through Friday, our organization is open 7 days per week and team members must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends and respond to crisis situations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

CPR/First-Aide Certified

Ability to type at least 55 wpm and excellent computer skills.

Passionate, objective and non-judgmental disposition.

Bilingual Differential of $0.53/hr

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
