Job Summary
Responsible for but not limited to directing the establishment and maintenance of the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures for the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of its financial reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, and the maintenance of the organization's accounting principles, best practices, policies, and procedures necessary for the maintenance and the preparation of the financial reports.
- Directs general and property accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary control and appraises operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, trends, and increased profit opportunities.
- Coordinates monthly financial reporting package, balance sheet crosswalk, prepares final balancing, prepares payroll entry, oversees and monitor all bank accounts making monthly transfer request as needed, contractual data for entry, pull provider statistical and provider reimbursement for review from Medicare and Medicaid website for review and annual inventory, tax return preparation and regulatory compliance and reporting (990, 1099, W2).
- Coordinates annual audits with external and internal auditors. Prepares necessary materials for regular audits and works with auditors.
- Plans, organizes, and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, and continuing education initiatives.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Attends continuing education courses to remain current in healthcare.
- Communicates updated or new guidelines and regulations to appropriate personnel.
- Works with leadership on capital requests items, attends meetings, and maintains capital spreadsheet.
- Serves on Compliance Committee.
- Understands Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Prepares monthly operation reports for additional departments; Contractual and Bad Debs, IT Technology, Administration, Human Resources, Miscellaneous Administration, Medical director and Benefit Overhead.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting required upon hire OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance required upon hire OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience required
- No licensure/certification/registration required
