The Role
OWL Services has an immediate opening for a full-time Civil Designer. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals. If you are looking for a long-term opportunity, please apply to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Generate construction documents via AutoCAD, focusing on civil site plans, grading and drainage plans, and structural detailing
- Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
- Create engineering drawings and designs for execution teams
- Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
- Work with Estimation team to estimate material and production costs for designs
- Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers
- Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
- Develop technical reports for engineers
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Office (Excel, Word, Email)
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and manual drafting workstations
- Familiar with Adobe Acrobat software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional time management, accountability, and prioritization skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects concurrently
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy when completing projects
- Ability to support a fast paced environment
