Position Summary
Do you have a background in concrete, construction or carpentry? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators and telehandlers? OWL Services has immediate openings for full time Civil Technicians. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals. This is a long-term opportunity and offers to chance to grow within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Setting forms that hold concrete in place
- Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues
- Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a trowel and float.
- Ability to safely maneuver equipment trailers
- Restoration of areas where work has been performed (leveling, seed and straw)
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
- Ability to safely operate equipment (Mine excavators, Telehandlers, Skid Steers)
- Possess basic computer skills including word, excel & email
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be willing to travel nationwide up to 85% of the time
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- 3 years’ experience as a concrete finisher
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members
- Exceptional time management, accountability, and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated, goal- oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals
- Able to support a fast paced, demanding work schedule; including occasional late evenings and/or weekends when requested
- Ability to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving
- Endurance of regular exposure to all weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and rain during all seasons throughout the year
- Ability to be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
- Utilize protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and high visible vest when working on-site
