OXOS is searching for an X-Ray Team Test Engineer to join our high-growth company. You will join a dynamic team of passionate people who work daily to change how radiographic diagnostics are delivered. To ensure high diagnostic value in a portable, safe package, OXOS is developing the smallest chest X-Ray device in the world. At OXOS, the X-Ray Engineering team is leading the charge in increasing power density at high voltages through the deployment of state-of-the-art topologies and advanced materials in order to achieve the optimal balance of size, weight, and thermal and electrical stability. As these innovative technologies continue to evolve, the critical role of robust and carefully crafted test practices is ever-growing at OXOS. Special care is required to meet the particular requirements demanded by the medical device industry.

Responsibilities

The Test Engineer will play a pivotal role in spearheading the development of a robust test strategy for the power supply that adheres to industry-standard testing protocols in medical devices. The Test Engineer will meticulously scrutinize and optimize designs to bolster testability, driving the adoption of standardized testing processes for prototypes. Additionally, the Test Engineer will be responsible for creating scripts that facilitate streamlined and effective test execution.

As part of our team, your core duties will be, but are not limited to: 

  • Identifying testing requirements and key design principles to be followed by the X-Ray Engineering team during the design phase.
  • Regularly reviewing topologies and components harnessed in designs, proposing design changes to bolster testability.
  • Developing scripts that drive testing hardware for semi-automated test execution, collaborating with the power electronics engineer as needed.
  • Identifying testing requirements of the X-Ray generator, focusing on regulatory compliance, safety, reliability, and lifetime prediction.
  • Interfacing with external partners to harness environmental chambers and other testing equipment for various forms of reliability and lifetime tests, providing scripting to automate tests.
  • Identifying product vulnerabilities and adapting testing schemes to isolate and diagnose the cause of failures.
  • Documenting testing findings rigorously in an industry-appropriate, standardized manner.
  • Studying internal and external regulatory compliance requirements for the x-ray generator.
  • Leading the requirement writing during the various phases of design and development.

Required Qualifications

  • MS/BS in physics, engineering, computer science, or related field w/3 yrs experience
  • Knowledge of X-Ray radiation sources and imaging techniques
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with X-Ray imaging systems 
  • Strong working knowledge of low radiation X-Ray imaging techniques
  • Strong hands-on experience in medical imaging system design and verification
  • Experience with X-Ray imaging system experimentation, design, and integration
  • Experience designing IEC 60601 compliant medical equipment
  • Experience with high voltage (40 kV) power supply design
