PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Process Technical Authority will be the focal point for all for all discipline governance, advice, and support within the defined sphere of process engineering expertise
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Endorsing the relevant technical sections of the key Company Governance Documents including Project Execution Plans, Basis of Design, Asset Reference Plans etc.
- Arbitrating, determining, and records technical interpretation on the meaning and /or intent of a standard and specification. The impact of such interpretations on cost and schedule as well as technical integrity could require consultation with Project Managers and other discipline Technical Authorities
- Representative for relevant technical matters with external bodies such as vendors, contractors, national approval agencies and stakeholders
- Consulting across business operations, providing mentorship, and contributing specialized knowledge.
- Participating in technical integrity processes audit and reviews, including HAZID, HAZOPS, safety critical reviews, design, constructability and operability reviews, FAT commissioning and start-up tests
- Developing Brownfield and Greenfield scopes process engineering concepts and design
- Reviewing as built documentation.
- Overseeing Process Engineering optimization of project designs and overseeing the process design work of engineering contractors for relevant projects
- Providing process optimization input and develop analysis of existing facilities to debottleneck facilities and create scopes of work for debottlenecking of facilities.
- Present conceptual process designs and debottlenecking opportunities and benefits to senior mgmt. to help secure project sanctioning.
- Approving operation outside design envelopes.
- Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
- Performing risk assessments.
- Designing and testing process upgrades and new process systems.
- Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
- Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues.
- Performing optimization tests.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES
- Relevant Engineering Degree & Bachelor of Science
- Proven work experience as a process engineer.
- Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures.
- High-level knowledge of process engineering software systems.
- Advanced technical skills.
- Analytical thinker.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in process engineering
