We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Construction Planner within our La Porte VCM plant located in La Porte, TX. Essential Job Duties: - Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority. - Manage material storage and handling in preparation for field execution. This involves managing off-loading and receipt of deliveries, auditing deliveries per order, organizing and tracking inventory, and ensuring material is properly staged for the project. - Assist the project organization in developing and managing schedules for projects and outages. - Review bill of materials for projects to identify any deficiencies and ensure material is available for field execution. - Manage and project rental equipment to minimize cost. - Interface daily with project engineers to review project plans, schedules, and scopes of work are executed effectively and efficiently. Review and provide input on definition, accuracy and priority. Assist engineers with properly defining project scopes, technical details, & specifications. Make recommendations on projects such as timeline, labor requirements, work scope, & material. - Create project job plans and properly organize and store plans for historical review. - Develop the scope of each work order. Procure required material to perform field execution of projects, including outside contract services, rental equipment, and specialized tools to include emphasis on all the requirements of company specifications, HESS, and PSM programs. - Provide leadership in assuring all requirements of the routine maintenance work process are utilized consistently and effectively to continuously improve the process and ensure goals are met. - Assist Construction Supervisor to: - Ensure outside A2 contractors working onsite are knowledgeable and compliant with HES requirements, and ensure all A2 contractor documentation is organized, maintained, and properly stored. - Evaluate non-resident contractor performance, including quality & safety performance. Perform frequent audits of contractors and the permitting process to ensure HES knowledge and compliance. - Implement capital projects for the site, and ensure proper site coverage for any contract work being performed on the site. - Set priorities on project construction activities with contractors to assure continuing plant operations with minimum downtime while maintaining responsibility for Plant Key Measures (overtime, downtime, call-outs). - Coordinate with Production, Technical, and Maintenance groups to ensure accurate and efficient completion of project construction activities. - Assign jobs and provide field supervision as needed to project contractors and capital technicians on daily work activities as well as plant outages. - Ensure that all project work is performed according to job plan and scope. - Participate in the design of projects involving both Capital and Expense funding, and assist with any improvements and efficiencies to cost control, equipment, and process. - Step up for Capital Construction Supervisor as needed

Qualifications:

Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED. - Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in repair, installation, troubleshooting and upkeep of plant equipment/facilities. - Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated high level of effectiveness working in a collaborative teamwork environment. - Direct experience with maintenance, operation, and/or construction for chemical manufacturing facilities. - Demonstrated construction management skills including material & labor planning, cost & schedule estimating, cost & progress tracking and management, documentation; ability to evaluate manpower loading plans. - Working knowledge of the routine maintenance process, regulations, and policies. - Ability to manage field construction of mid-size projects up to $10MM. - Ability to manage multiple projects and on-site contractors simultaneously. - Working knowledge of applicable API, ASME, and OSHA codes and standards. - Ability to effectively contribute in constructability reviews & assist in the engineering effort. - Familiar knowledge of material handling/staging principles and techniques. - Ability to select and manage facility contractors and inspectors, and provide assessment of contractors to the organization. - Ability to work weekends, holidays, and respond to callouts or off-hour emergencies on a non-routine basis. - High proficiency in use of construction and fabrication drawings, survey drawings, P&IDs, Isometric drawings, flow diagrams, installation specifications, and other construction design drawings; able to interpret as required. - Basic understanding of automation and electrical design principles. - Thorough application knowledge of NDT testing techniques; experience with welding procedures, inspections and NDE. - Fundamental understanding of MOCs, HAZOPs and PSSRs. - Ability to develop and review lifting plans for critical lifts. - Ability to develop and draft excavation plans. - Ability to develop and draft fall protection plans. - Demonstrated effective communication in written and verbal forms; adept at selection and use of appropriate communication techniques (e-mail, fax, phone, cell phone, Internet, etc.). - Ability to read, write, and speak in English. - High proficiency in use of computer database and shared folder management. - Ability to travel as required (a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record are required). - High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP. - Excellent organizing skills to manage and maintain copies of project plans and contractor documentation (contractor onboarding information, timesheets, project photos, disposal bin tracking, scopes of work, etc.) Additional Desired Qualifications - Prior Mechanical planning experience preferred. - Good working knowledge of SAP - Supervisory experience of contract personnel is preferred. Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
