We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Surface Land Director - Rockies within our Land group based in Denver, CO. This position will manage direct reports and lead the Rockies Surface Land organization within area of responsibility. Essential Job Responsibilities: - Manage Rockies Surface Land team composed of Surface Land Negotiators and Land Specialist staff. - Oversee all Surface Land activities for the Rockies Business Unit including Surface Use Agreement negotiations and acquisitions, other necessary easements needed to support the Rockies Business Unit, and working with surface owners as needed to facilitate operations. - Act as the Surface Land representative amongst the Business Unit leadership team and work cooperatively with counterparts in Mineral Land, Regulatory, Drilling & Completions and coordinate with Asset and Development Directors. - Responsible for managing all personnel issues including hiring, staff development, etc. - Responsible for successfully reporting and monitoring costs associated with area of responsibility
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of successful oil and gas land experience, preferably 15 years of relevant experience - Minimum of 5 years of progressive Land managerial experience required - Deep knowledge of land contracts (SUAs, easements/ROW agreements, water contracts) and experience with title review and clearance, complex negotiations and agreement drafting. - Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. - Must be able to manage multiple complex projects, demonstrate an innovative solution-oriented attitude and meet project timelines. - Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including asset management team, Land management team and external stakeholders. - Knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations impacting Colorado and Wyoming required Education - Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Land, Business, Energy Management, Law, or other relevant degree required Relocation - This position may be eligible for relocation. Travel Requirements - The percentage of travel required for this position is 5-25%. Work Schedule - This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
