We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with precision measuring instruments and data collection. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and accuracy.
Work Hours: Monday- Thursday 5:30pm-4am
Duties:
- Perform inspections on incoming materials, work in progress, and finished products
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy
- Collect data and maintain accurate records of inspections
- Communicate any quality issues to the appropriate personnel
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
- Proficient in data collection and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills
· At the beginning of the work order, validate that line has been cleaned and sanitized by performing ATP swabs and that the line has been cleared of all items belonging to the previous work order.
· Issue the batch code and expiration date according to specifications.
· Gummies only: Tests the gummies as per written instructions (pH, water activity, Brix…) and record the results as required in the batch card.
· Finished Products only: Set up work orders to ensure that all specifications are met by validating the first ten pieces and subsequently every hour against the TBOM and the standard – Correct items received, Fill Weight / Fill Count, Gummies and Finished Product Appearance, Date Code – Expiration Date Printing, Seal test, …
· Finished Products only: Perform and record metal detector verification as per written instructions
· Support production in the assessment of quality aspects necessary to complete the production in accordance with the specifications established.
· Create sample number in Oracle for any products requiring outside testing
· Gather retains, micro, pre-shipment and active ingredient samples from the line during the established intervals.
· Outgoing Inspection: Inspect Finished Goods by performing statistical inspection against ISO-2859 standard. Record results on the inspection sheet.
· Reworks: When reworks resulting from internal QC inspection or customer complaint are required, support production by checking that reworks are done in accordance with the instructions from Quality.
· Perform a material review with all involved departments for any non-conformances. Document each non-conformance by following the Non-Conforming SOP (Issuance of a Non-Conformance number, description of the non-conformance, and corrective action / reworks instruction if applicable)
· Send pre-ship samples to the customer and micro / active ingredient to the outside lab in timely manner (24 hours) as required. Edit logs and submission forms accordingly.
· Update the status in Oracle for Finished Goods and Bulk (gummies) as required.
· Ensure all issues are communicated to the supervisor and that any deviations are documented
